FARO recently announced a new update of SCENE WebShare Cloud, representing a substantial leap forward in worldwide secure 3D reality data exchange, collaborative project management and high-efficiency scan-to-BIM operations among project partners. This next-generation cloud-based platform, with its new Point Cloud Download and AEC Management Platform Integration functionalities, contributes to further driving the digital transformation and global cooperation within the AEC industry.

SCENE WebShare Cloud allows high-precision 3D reality data to be stored, viewed, evaluated and shared with authorized persons anywhere and anytime using a web browser. This service delivers powerful functionalities, accelerating the overall productivity by guaranteeing fast reality data exchange of the largest projects without utilizing data storage on a local server or shipping data physically. Providing immediate access to all project partners of the latest reality data, ensure collaborators operate with the identical level of knowledge, thus avoiding redundant and outdated, faulty communication, erroneous project decisions and site rework. Point Cloud Download Functionality for Scan-to-BIM

The new export functionality enables new time-saving workflows by allowing sections and entire projects to be downloaded as 3D point clouds or high-resolution panoramic images, supporting all common industry standard formats such as *.rcp, *.pod, *.xyz and *.e57 for direct use with Autodesk and Bentley Pointools portfolio, FARO’s As-Built Modeler or any other preferred CAD and BIM software. SCENE WebShare Cloud can be directly integrated into the Autodesk construction management tool BIM 360 and Nemetschek’s Bimplus platform, permitting AEC professionals to manage reality data together with the corresponding BIM data directly in their preferred construction management platform. Upload reality data of any source, captured by terrestrial laser scanners, hand-held scanners, drones, mobile scanning systems and photogrammetry devices from FARO and other scanning solution providers without constraints in data size.

Powerful Data Visualization, Evaluation and Sharing

Various viewing modes like 3D, Virtual Reality and panoramic scan views ensure an impressive visualization and easy orientation even within most complex projects directly in the browser. Advanced evaluation tools allow to take, edit and share measurements and add annotations, to organize data using categories and reference tags or to add links to external data sources like Dropbox and Box Data Storage. It enables users to generate true-to-scale orthoimages used for generating 2D deliverables like floor, elevation and facade plans or sections. All project data can be easily made accessible from the outside to partners involved via its unique URL.
