Navcom Partners with Astrium

NavCom and Astrium Services have formed a strategic partnership to deliver precise positioning solutions throughout Europe. Through this alliance, Astrium Services will become the sole European supplier of NavCom's GNSS product and positioning solutions, including the StarFireä Network, NavCom's global decimetre-accurate satellite-based augmentation system (GSBAS).  

Through this partnership NavCom is offering Europe's premier space technology firm the same precise positioning technology, that has made John Deere a world leader in precision agriculture by enabling increased machine productivity and a reduction in the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides.

This agreement complements Astrium Services' existing Axio-Net Network-RTK services covering Germany which can provide accuracy to within 2cm. Astrium Services is anticipating to integrating this technology into their EADS products, for example UAVs, and services such as cadastral surveying and precision mapping.
