New Organisational Structure at Leica Geosystems

As another step in the process of integration into a new ownership, the organisational structure of Leica Geosystems (Switzerland) is being adjusted. In order to strengthen its focus, the company will be organised in three divisions with immediate effect. The strategic direction of Leica Geosystems is not affected.

The former division Consumer Products will be renamed as Measuring Tools Division and immediately focus on the new, sixth generation of DISTO laser distance meter products. It shall develop a strategy to expand the offering within the measuring tools industry and further expand the distribution. Klaus Brammertz, with Leica Geosystems for four years, will continue to lead this division.

The Geospatial Imaging Division based in Atlanta will focus on software and prepare the entry into vertical markets, which is in accordance with the plans prepared before the takeover by Hexagon. Bob Morris, with Leica Geosystems for five years, will continue to lead this division.

The Surveying & Engineering Division, the High Definition Surveying Division, the Airborne Sensor Business Unit and the Sales Region China will be merged to form the new Geosystems Division. The Geosystems Division will be responsible for the central services in Heerbrugg and the shared services for Leica Geosystems worldwide. Clement Woon, with Leica Geosystems since 1992, and the president of the Surveying & Engineering Division since 2001, will lead this division.

The three divisional heads will directly report to Ola Rollén, President & CEO of Hexagon AB.

The former Leica Metrology Division will be integrated into the Hexagon Metrology Business Area.
Within the coming weeks, detailed planning of the integrative steps based on this new structure will be completed and implemented.
