Two New TWAIN Drivers for Contex scanners

Contex Scanning Technology (Denmark) has announced the availability of two new TWAIN drivers that have been included into Contex’ WIDEsystem and WIDEimage scanning software. These WIDEtwain drivers, enable immediate and problem free connection to Contex scanners from a wide range of third party applications like Photoshop and Corel Draw.

TWAIN is a universal public standard which links applications (imaging software) and image acquisition devices such as scanners. Contex now provides WIDEtwain drivers enabling you to use your large format scanner with the wide range of popular imaging applications that support the TWAIN standard. There are two ways to enjoy TWAIN support with Contex scanners:

Simple TWAIN Support included with every scanner (Windows ME and Windows XP only):
WIDEsystem runs on both Windows ME and XP, enabling communication between the scanner and TWAIN compliant applications. Users will be able to import scanned images and set a number of the basic and common scanning options such as scan mode, dpi and lightness settings.

Advanced TWAIN Support with Contex’ WIDEimage scanning software: This WIDEtwain support can run on Windows operating systems including Windows 2000, ME and XP. Users must first install the Contex WIDEimage Scanning Software. Twain compliant applications can call up the more advanced scanning interface based on WIDEimage functions, and let the user exploit the full range of the scanners features directly from within the application. This TWAIN version fully supports the Contex NET architecture allowing users to scan on remote scanners over the LAN or internet.
